Atlas Design Institute is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information provided by those visiting and interacting with Atlas Design Institute online.
We will not capture and store any personal information about you if you access this website, except where you voluntarily choose to give us your personal details — by email, by telephone, or by writing to the address below. The personal information you give is used exclusively by Atlas Design Institute to provide you with current and future information about our products and services and any other offers described on this website. We will not pass on any of your personal data to organisations or individuals outside Atlas Design Institute, except with your express consent.
Website usage information
How do we collect data?
The personal data we hold reaches us by email, by telephone, or through the two forms on this website: the field where you may enter an address to receive our notes, and the field on the unsubscribe page where you may enter an address to be taken off them. Both are delivered by Formspree, which receives the address and forwards it to the office. Nothing else you do on this site is sent to us or to anyone else.
You have a right to know about the personal information we hold about you. You also have a right to have your data corrected or deleted. Please address all your queries and/or requests about your data to atlas@atlasdesigninstitute.com.
The mailing list
If you enter your email address to receive our insights, we hold that address, and the date you gave it, in order to send you those notes and occasional news about the office. We rely on your consent, which you give by entering your address and pressing Subscribe — the form says what the address is for and links to this policy. Your address is not shared with third parties, and asking for the notes does not add you to anything else.
Every message we send carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from the list. You can also write to atlas@atlasdesigninstitute.com and ask to be removed, or ask us what we hold. People who write to the office with an enquiry or an application are not added to the list.
Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the visitor's device. This website sets no cookies of its own, and runs no social plug-ins.
The one third-party tag on this site is the Google Ads tag, which tells us whether our advertising brings people here. It is loaded in consent mode: before you make a choice, and if you decline, it stores nothing on your device. If you accept the cookie bar, Google may set advertising cookies and record the pages you viewed on this site. We see grouped reports from Google, never individuals, and none of it is linked to an enquiry you send us. Changing your mind is easy — clear this site's data in your browser and the choice is offered again.
If you arrive here from one of our advertisements and decline, the click identifier is still carried in the address of the pages you move between, so the visit can be credited to the advertisement without a cookie being stored on your device. Nothing else is added.
The cookie choice you are shown on your first visit is remembered in your own browser's local storage; that record is not a cookie and it is never sent to us.
Which systems handle the data we collect?
The systems listed below handle data submitted by visitors to this website and our customers' personal data.
| System | Purpose | Personal data |
|---|---|---|
| Web hosting provider | Serves this website and keeps the standard server logs. | Server logs only — IP address, time and page requested — held for security and fault diagnosis, not used to identify visitors. |
| Google Workspace | The office's email, and therefore where correspondence sent to atlas@atlasdesigninstitute.com is stored and read. | Whatever you choose to send us: typically your name, company, telephone number, email address and any attachment, such as a CV, drawing or specification. |
| Formspree | Receives what is entered in the sign-up form and in the unsubscribe form, and forwards it to the office by email, so that the address reaches us without this website needing a server of its own. If a mailing platform is connected later to send the notes, it will be named in this row as well. | The email address you subscribed with, and the date and source of your consent. |
| Google Ads | Measures whether visits to this website came from our advertising. It is loaded in consent mode, so unless you accept the cookie bar it stores nothing on your device. | Only if you accept: cookies set by Google identifying an advertising click, and the pages of this site you viewed. Not your name, and not anything you send us. |
Disclosures of your data
Other than using the data collected to answer you and to keep a record of the enquiry, Atlas Design Institute may make disclosures which are reasonably necessary to:
- comply with the law, any regulatory requirement, court order or other legal process;
- defend or take any legal proceedings;
- protect or defend our rights or property, or that of others; or
- enforce any agreement you may have with us.
No ad servers
Atlas Design Institute has no relationships with any ad server companies.
Links
This site contains links to other websites, including our own page on LinkedIn. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the changing content of third-party websites.
Security technology
We take information security seriously. This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to the office's systems is limited to the people who need it. Correspondence and any files you send are held in the office's own Google Workspace account, protected by the account's access controls, and are not kept longer than they are needed.
Atlas Design Institute email practices
If you send us your email address with an enquiry or an application, we use it to answer you and to keep a record of the enquiry — we do not add you to the mailing list. The list itself is only for people who asked for it, every message carries an unsubscribe link, and you can write to atlas@atlasdesigninstitute.com at any time to be removed or to ask what we hold.
Data retention
We will retain your personal information only for as long as we reasonably consider it necessary for achieving the purposes set out in this privacy policy, or for as long as we are legally required to retain it. Drawings, models and specifications sent to the office are treated as confidential: they are not published, shown or reused, and they are deleted or returned on request once the enquiry is closed. If you have questions about applicable retention periods, please contact us.
